Sustainability and responsibilityKraussMaffei Group operates internally and externally on the understanding that sustainable successful economic activity is based on careful handling of resources. 1. Energy saving and resource-conserving product solutions and processesOur research and development activity is focused, among other things, on new materials. We want to offer our customers approaches to solutions to help them work more efficiently in the future. Among other things, we manufacture products and implement processes that help our customers conserve resources such as material and energy, for example, through the use of lightweight construction components made of innovative composite material in the automotive industry, high-performance plastic-based insulating materials in the building industry, biodegradable materials for the packaging industry or a plastic substitute through renewable primary products. 2. Quality in production and high safety levelsThe KraussMaffei Group attaches great importance to quality and sustainability in its own value-added processes. This refers to the manufactured products and their service lives, to all processes before, during and after production, and the processes that accompany production. Furthermore, it concerns the administrative processes and processes with suppliers. At the same time, our internal processes have cross-plant certification and consistently comply with the DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 standard. 3. Observance of legal standardsOur legal environment is characterized by a large number of national and international statutory regulations. Of central importance to our business activities are, among other things, specifications on operating licenses, the technical safety of machinery, medical and pharmaceutical regulations, building regulations, occupational health specifications, export control regulations and environmentally and user friendly regulations concerning production, plants and products. All production plants guarantee compliance with existing and new specifications, in particular, with regard to environmental protection. These include the limitation of air and ground pollution, discharge into underground water sources, other emissions to the environment, the handling, storage and transport of hazardous substances and the observance of safety regulations at the workplace to protect against hazardous substances. 4. Long-term human resources planning and developmentThe high share of apprentices of between 8 and 10 percent means that KraussMaffei has been above the industry average for many years. Our high commitment to the training of interns and students pays off: as many skilled workers as possible are replaced in our plants with people from our own training programs and we also them and all other employees numerous options for personal and career development within the company.
